Francesco Romano, after graduating with highest honour in guitar at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, has dedicated himself to study Renaissance and Baroque repertoire on instruments belonging to the family of the lute.

For many years he has worked as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles for the most prestigious festivals in Europe, America and Asia. He has collaborated with, among others, Sir J. E. Gardiner, R. Alessandrini, D. Fasolis, C. Coin, G. Antonini, A. L. King, A. Beyer…

He has recorded for Harmonia Mundi, Opus 111, Capriccio,RCA, Virgin, Symphonia, Hyperion, Edel Klassik, Zig Zag, Divox, Amadeus.
He teaches luth and guitar at the Florence Conservatory in Italy.
