Baroque cello
Rebeca Ferri, born in Rome in 1976, achieved her diploma in cello at Santa Cecilia Music Academy of Rome in 1998, with M. Gambini. She also studied the recorder with M. de Martini and A. Carideo. Since 1995 she has been deepening her study of the baroque cello with the likes of A. Bylsma, G. Darmstadt, R. Dieltiens, B. Maté, S. Veggetti, J. Christensen, R. Goebel, J. Savall.
In 2003 she was graduated from Hochschule für Musik Würzburg with J. ter Linden and in 2007 from Hochschule für Musik und Theater München with K. von der Goltz, still in baroque cello. She collaborates with various ensembles: I Turchini, Gli Incogniti, A l'Antica, Academia Montis Regalis, Soavi Affetti, Accademia Ottoboni, Ensemble Baroque du Léman, Concerto Romano, Arte Musica, La Selva, Camerata Artemisia, Ensemble 1800, Main-Barockorchester. She has recorded for OPUS 111, Glossa, Tactus, Carus, Amadeus, Eloquentia, Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, and Zig-Zag-Territoires.
Rebeca plays a cello by André Mehler (Leipzig 2011) after Martinus Kaiser (Venezia 1679) and an anonymous english cello from the seventeenth century.
